My bad luck....

I seem to always have bad luck. I have an Igniton MX lift stand that i use for my yz250, and sometimes the rubber on the top where the frame sits on the stand gets oily and slippery. Well my bike sometimes falls of the stand because the stand leans the one dirtectoin quite a bit. The other day my bike fell off the stand like usual... and the bars ripped right out of tripple clamps. I was using fat bar adaptors and Pastrana fmx pro taper contours. Tapped new threads and might have to go back to 7/8ths. or find a used upper tripple clamp....

Uhhh.....how does that happen from just falling over? Wait, your bike stand isn't 47 feet off the floor is it? All joking aside that does seem like pretty bad luck.

it has fallen like 4 times in the past week. But yeah. I was just sitting in my chair pumped for summer because it WAS all ready to ride then i turn my back for 5 seconds and boom. Ruined.

Next time put a rag over each of the rubbers. Now this doesn't mean go find a hooker...

My small lift type stands do the same thing so I just throw a rag on it, then the bike.

Also sounds like the bolts aren't catching enough thread as they go through the adapters into the top triple. If 2001 and 2002 are the same top triple, I might have a set for you on the cheaper than ebay, etc.

thanks for the offer man, i live in canada tho.. but my clamps are yz250 2001-03 and yz426f 2001-03. i did find a set on ebay for 40 bucks tho. and from dealer JUST the top piece is like 314 bucks after tax

It's all about learning. I actually don't believe in bad luck. Having your bike fall off if something you use as a stand and having it repeat is bad, something though.
