Help - Travel Trailer Generator - Onan Marquise 5500

The generator started acting up on our last outing. The best way I can describe it........ Crank the genny up and the lights surge or flicker after a few minutes the surge or flicker goes away. Any ideas on what the issue is?
Is it easily corrected? As many of you know I have limited to zero mechanical desire/ability. :smirk:

Change the.... Never mind buy a new one :smirk:

Can you plug straight into the gen as in there is an outlet on the gen itself? If so do you get the same results if you can do that? If not then it is not the gen nth how it is managing the power.

I would tell you to put the booze down but I know better. Can't make out what your getting at here.

Sitting at the airport. Too many red bulls. Let's try again.

Can you plug a cord straight into the gen? Stop.

If so, plug a light into the gen and see if it does the same surging. Stop.

If it does not, then the issue is not the gen but a possible regulator problem. Stop

If it does do the same thing then you know it's the gen and I'm
Not sure what the issue is. Stop.

Does this help? Stop.

are you describing a running problem? does it start up? Most generator problems are related to carburetor issues, the carb should be drained before storing it for any time,we have craapy fuel with too much ethanol,
most of the time a good carb cleaning does it.

Interestingly enough this trip out ZERO issues. Must have burnt through the old fuel. I also filled the tank with 91 not sure if that has anything to do with it. Maybe it was the "CTR" sticker that I added to the outside of the generator. :noidea:
